The Magic of Chanel

The Chanel show is the most magical of the week. Karl Lagerfeld's set designers always construct an awe-inspiring facade in the middle of the Grand Palais, right on the Seine, and excitement actually buzzes through the air.

He casts the best models - Karen Elson, Jourdan Dunn, Sasha Pivovarova - boasts the most impressive front row - Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto, Lily Allen, Kate Moss - and gives the best gift bags - Dragon Red nail polish and Candy Pink lip gloss.

The black and white clothes weren't too bad either. Mid-way through the collection, Lagerfeld tossed green and pink accents onto his neutral tweeds before throwing in all green look on Jessica Stam and head to toe pink knits on model Lara Stone. Plastic covered Chanel bags came stocked with compartments for perfume, lipstick and even an iPod.

After Karl stepped out of a trap door to wave hello at the end, the audience skipped out into the Paris rain assured that all was well in Chanel-land.

Fifth Avenue is a major thoroughfare in the center of Manhanttan in New York City. Between 34th street and 59th street, it is also one of the premier shopping streets in the world, often compared to London, Paris, Tokyo, and Milan. Fifth Avenue serves as a symbol of wealthy New York. The wonderful, amazing street was made in 1862 by the wealthy people of New York. Between 34th street and 60th street, Fifth Avenue is lined with luxury retail stores, which include Tiffany Co.,Cartier SA, Lord & Taylor, Burberry, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, BVLGARI, Armani Exchange, Coach Inc., Escada, Christian Dior, Juicy Couture, Lacoste, Fendi, Versace, Kenneth Cole, and Saks Fifth Avenue. I have experienced the world, my life in just one street. What have you experienced in your life as cool as mine?

Put your shutter shades on.

Today is one of my personal favorite days of the week; Wednesday. At our local Cypress Bay every wednesday, or as we like to call it "shades wednesday", is when the whole population is showing off their shades, so our pupils within the eye doesn't get damaged (Yeah, that's a great joke). I just recently bought two pair of sunglasses for this fabulous event. But of course ladies, how can we forget, spring break is almost here and you know what that means- OUR LONG SUNNY DAYS IN THE BEACH!! One of the most important accessories to go with our fun in the sun and to protect us from dangerous sun rays that can ruin our beautiful eyes. I personally love the brands Ray Ban and Diesel, a touch of the classic oldies. Ray Bans never get old and Diesel are bold and dynamic. They're always in trend. What's your choice of shades, modern big or classic oldies?

Beauty Tip of the Day

Family Secret.

Crack a few eggs and beat them together with mayo and butter in a bowl. Before shampooing, massage the eggs through your hair. Leave for 10-15 minutes before rinsing them out thoroughly. The eggs, surprisingly enough, help repair and strengthen your hair follicles. You will get silky hair with great body.

Spring: TREND REPORT!

Spring is coming up in a month or two and no more need big furry jacket with gloves and scarves. Its time for a cool new look. But how do you know which spring trends to try and which ones are the huge no-no's? Thats why I'm here..duh! This bright new beautiful season screams for boyish preppy, new nautical, bright florals, pretty pales, tribal prints, and some bold patterns. Boyish preppy: A bright mini skirt and tights gives the oxford-and-blazer a girly touch. New nautical: Go for the modern shapes (wide tops, short shorts) so you don't look like Popeye. :/ Eww. Bright florals: A solid piece (such as a bright yellow jacket) makes the pattern pop and keeps it from looking wallpapery. Pretty pales: White jeans always make a yellow top and ribbon belt a less precious. Tribal prints: Tons of wooden jewelry add to the tribal effect. Bold patterns: Mix prints; Just make sure they share a common color.

Can you say...Coco Chanel

As if you already know, fashion has been the peanut butter to my jelly ever since I can remember. All of THIS started when I was introduced and discovered the magnificant creation of Chanel. Gabrielle Chanel, or well known as Coco Chanel, was one of the first fashion designers in Paris. Replacing the breathtaking (literally) corsets, with comfort and casual elegance.

She was born in 1883 in Saumur, France - her mother worked in the poorhouse where Coco was born. She died when Coco was at the age of 6, leaving her father with five children whom he abandoned to the care of relatives. She adopted the name "Coco" during a brief career as a cafe and concert singers from 1905-1908.

She started a little business, Chanel, with two men in Paris in 1910. Her created simple hats and its became very popular. Following her simple hats, she developed a trend, the "little boy" look. Chanel herself dressed in mannish clothes, and adapted the fashion which women found quite liberating. A fierce little woman who left the world on January 10, 1971. This woman has become a worldwide icon. From Chanel No.5 to her simple little black dress. We will always remember that petite, fierce woman with the clean cut elegance.

Natural Exfoliater

WHO EVER KNOW?
A beauty tip from your's truely. This is a great natural exfoliating treatment that you can make at home. Take a packet of sugar (raw sugar works the best), add a couple drops of olive oil to make it easier to spread, then gently rub it into the creases of your face.

In a MEN'S Point of View.

We girls always tend to spend hours and hours just by straightening our hair, matching our clothes, and perfecting every brush and stroke in our face to impress a cute guy. But really, do those elabrate hours make to cut of impression? Here are some comments from hot teen celebs on women's trends.

Q: What's a girl trend that confuses you?

Ed Westwick (from Gossip Girls):
None. As long as it's done the right way, I think it'll be attractive. It's not about what it is, it's about who's wearing it. From my limited knowledge of women's fashion, everything is pretty good.

Robert Pattinson (from Twilight):

Those Ugg boots!!

The Jonas Brothers:
The " i don't care look" when a girl is wearing sweats

Chace Crawford (from Gossip Girls):

The big sunglasses, like the ones Paris Hilton wears. They look like alien space astronauts. That confuses me a bit.

Ryan Sheckler:

Skirts or dresses over jeans.

Pete Wentz (From Falloutboy):

Leggings. I feel like they look like spandex or like fancy sweatpants. I can't get down with 'em.

How should you wear a short skirt?

You could definitely wear miniskirts without leggings — it's just all about the balance in proportions. Since the miniskirt is short and shows off your legs, you'll want to keep your top half pretty covered. You don't want to be all skin head to toe! For a casual look try pairing the miniskirt with a slightly oversize American Apparel sweatshirt or this cute long-sleeve V-neck. Ballet flats or a fun pair of Converse complete this cute, casual miniskirt look. If you want a dressier look, a tank top works, but layer the tank with a longer blazer or fitted cardigan. Spice up this outfit a bit with some bangles or a necklace.
